John Newman - "Love me Again" Music Video Analysis...

When looking at the reprresentation, within the Music Video "Love me Again" we can see that John Newman is shown wearing a suit jacket, trousers and shirt, which helps us understand that he is the main star of the video and the singer of this song. However, when looking at the lighting within the video we can see that it natural lighting and sometimes it can be seen as fading, which this could show us that this is old fashioned style, that the artist is wanting to portray to his audience.

When looking at the conventions within the music video we can see that the story is about a boy and a girl falling in love. This could then be showing us that the singer is not singing this about himself as it is seen showing the story of a boy and gil falling into a relationship, along the intertextual idea of Romeo and Juliet, meaning that it does not really apply to him. Furthermore the singer is shown singing and dancing through this portray the genre of pop/soul to the audience.

However, this music video can link in wiht the idea of Goodwin's theory as the music and visual's of the video relate to the song and it therefore creates a tone and atmosphere to the audience. The artist is being shown throughout the entire music video giving him the recognisabllity to the audience, knowing what he looks like and the way in which she appeals throughout this music video to his audience.

The camera angles throughout this music video vary. There are a few close ups of John Newman's face, so that the audience can see the artist himself clearly and recognise him more fluently, enabling us to understand more about him, e.g. emotive expressions within his face. The camera also seems to follow him as he dances and always looks up at him in the background even when it is filming the other people dancing in the music video to show that he is the main focus, making him seem more of the dominant character throughout.

There are also parts within this music video, which has been edited in slow motion to possibly add attention and suspense within this, creating that more viewing effect, this happens at the start of the song and before the chorus, creating that excitement for the audience viewing.
