However, throughout the music video Katy Perry maintains a direct mode of visual adress throughout, by further on maintaining her eye contact with the camera and then effectuvely with the audience and future audiences who would be watching this music video. This would then be an effectuve technique to use within any type of music video as it then allows the audience to make an emotive connection with the artist herself, creating that relationship goal that artists mainly want to have with their audiences.

Futhermore, when looking at the location which is set in a dense tropical jungle filled withn many types of vegetation and many brightky coloured ones to. This then contributes more with Simon Fraith's narrative of sound and vision. This means the locations helps establish the story to the audience of the character that she is playing within this music video.

When looking at the genre of Katy Perry's music video "Roar" we can see that she likes to entertain her audiences by interacting with her use of "Pop" genre features. She gives a conceptual narrative with her music video, then then supporting these to together to combine it then shows the idea of Simon Frith's narrative and conceptual theories combined together within the same video.

When looking at this music video I like the way in which she has used cartoon features within the video, making it look like some type of comic book scene, which this could the generate the gaining in more of an appeal within the younger audiences.

However, this music video does contain the idea of "intertextuality", relating to the story of Tarzen and being lost within the jungles and then finding yourself further along the line and this is what Katy Perry's character achieved, by showing her narrative from the start as being this scared stranded female and then as she progresses and learns more about her environment she then finds her self as "Queen of the Jungle" and this set up helps match the idea of Tarzen.

Katy Perry's music video "Roar" contains many different camera angles such as close up shots. This is used so that when she is lip syncing, it then allows us to see the idea of having this so that it aims are to then sell the star (artsit: Katy Perry) to the sonsumers, which in this case are her targeted audiences. Within the video they also use a panning shot of her swinging through the trees, this then allows us as the audience to see the changes and development in her character throuhgout the jungle within the narrative told within this music video.
