LunchMoney Lewis - "Bills" Music Video Analysis...

When looking at the music video for "Bills", to me this plays out as a narrative role, about being a working/family type of man wanting to pay his bills and "Work, Work, work", however he is drowning amongst all these bills.

The video does include the performance of the artist himself "LunchMoney Lewis," which this shown when he talks about "making sure everybody eats." The narrative in which he plays within this music video is the idea of being a male character who is mainly struggling to keep up with his bills and pay for them, even though he is trying to work hard to complete this situation that he is portraying, which this could then relate in with the idea of portraying real life experienced situations like this that many people in the world could go through, just like he is portraying within this music video.

The idea of him playing the role of many different characters such as the postman, Graderner and a homeowner can support my idea about portraying many different people situations like this. These then help tell the lyrics into showing that many people such as himself can be in a situation like this, no matter who you are.

When looking at the problem in which the music video is portraying, with the issue of having bills that many people can suffer with around the world, however when looking at the settings and the beat of the song it makes this problem then seem unimportant and is seen as nothing that people need to worry about and effect them badly. This could then help emphasise that everyone can have a happy side whatever problems that people can be facing and then by looking at this music video the audience can then witness this further and may even be able to motivate them in the same way LunchMoney Lewis is portraying the problem and be happy whatever the problem.

Furthermore, when looking at this music video and the idea of the theory of Binary Opposites, which this video can be applied to as within the narrative we see an emotional conflict between the female character and LunchMoney Lewis's male character, by her wanting more money and he is trying to pay his bills of by working and the more money she wants the more that the bills are then building up and this is his main problem. which this then shows the audience the idea of opposition between these two characters within this music video.
