My Magazine Drafts

Below show the 3 different draft designs in which I have created for my magazine poster. As we can see there have been many different changes made however the similarity between them all have stayed the same such as the ositioning of my artist, as this relates to the sketch plans in which I had created.

This was the first Magazine poster draft in which I created from looking at my sketch plan and the image I was to use for this. We can see within this that I have used the envelope prop within the background of the poster and wanted this to help reflect on how important the prop is within the music video. My design is simple and this was said to be back in the planning stages, however I wanted my poster to be seen as simple as it helps draw people more in, they wouldn't be to bored with too much information, the use of the simple design helps to deliver this purpose. I have used the same font for the artist's name as planned, however the "YOURS" font did not stay the same as the artist's font I used, for how I wanted it to stay consistent with fonts being similar designs but different variety, but I needed to explore more into this.

The well know consistent features have been included within the poster such as social media icons, record company logo for the song as well as the release date for the album that this poster is advertising as well as the artist.

There is a plain white text box in which I used as I thought this would help for the icons to stand out, however I chose to improve on this within my next draft.

This then became my second draft in which I included for my magazine poster design, which this was in consideration with what I had done in the first draft, thinking about how I could improve on that one and take it a step further on using more effects and techniques within my design.

With this design we can see that the use of the prop has been made smaller, to what the first draft was, and it has also been positioned away from the artist as this was the first one would of been taking away the purpose of the artist being there.

However, I did make a change with the font for "Yours" this is becasue when completing responses (you can see this on a different post) from audiences about the 3 drafts in which I had completed, this was something that was being said alot for the font to change, so I went for an appropriate letter style type of font that still looked vintage as well as it being made bold to stand out amongst the envelope. Creating more of an effect for the poster as well as staying similar to the font used in the artists name.

I also added colour to the text box, adding a shade of light green as I thought this would be appropriate for the scheme of the location, with it being an outside area I thought it would blend in more within the background as well as helping the information also stand out on it. Other then that this draft has stayed the same.

This was the final magazine poster draft in which I produced and this was by attemting to make it near enough exactly how my sketch plan looked. Which we can see the major difference between all 3 of drafts and this was by making the envelope even larger, which was how it is seen on my planned designs, making it seem as part of the background.

This then did become a problem becasue once I had completed this design, it looked to big for the poster, taking away most of he image of the background and was taking away that feature in which I wanted to be seen. The envelope was therefore made too large and didn't look right amongst the design, such as having it behind the artist, it didn't really help her portray amongst the poster and help the artist's title stand out amongst the poster, it made it look too crowded and was not looking as professional as it should look at this stage. It just didn't help the poster look as it should do.

I have also put the orginal "Yours" font back onto the envelope, but I still didn't think that it worked with the consitency of the poster designs, meaning that I wouldn't keep with this style and prefer the one from draft "2"

Elsewhere, all the magazine features have stayed the same on the poster like the other drafts in which I have completed.
