New Digipak Drafts...

There have been a few changes that I have made within my digipak designs and these are only small features such as the artist's title name, I have changed these to orange because I wanted the digipak to stay consistant with the magazine poster and the orange font worked well and worked boldly against the background. Meaning that I needed to find a way to incoporate this into my digipak plans. I have done this and it does work well with the overall design of the cover, spine and discs to become more effective for the audience to view.

The other feature in which I have changed in this digipak are the disc designs. The image in which I used for the disc last time was to dark and did not help them to stand out like they should. So I decided to conduct some research into Ella Henderon's exsisting digipaks/CDs. When I looked I saw that she mostly used plain white designs for her discs, so I thought I would go along with this idea and incoportate this into my own designs. So I used white and created an "effect" image of the lake view at Ferry Meadows. However, I made this more older, looking to create that vintage appearance. Using a black and white appearance made this more useful when showing across my ideas. I also had the use of creating a sketch design to the image to make it more effective and appealing towards the audience viewing it. Therefore they are the only features I changed this included research being made as well as experimenting with the different colour fonts.

After creating my other drafts of my digipak I decided to go further and experiment more on adding in different designs. However, in this case I focused on more trying to explore different designs for the front cover.

Looking at draft 2 above, I used an image with more of the artist on show with her coat and shirt underneath that can only be slightly seen. When looking at this we can see that it works well with the background and the way she is postioned, however there was the problem of her looking to posed amongst her body language, this doesn't look like it was supposed to be a natural image. This looked well, however when I printed this off to experiment with this, it didn't look as suitable for the cover and I don't think it would of worked well and didn't look to natural for the way I was hoping.

Furthermore, when looking at draft 3 from above the image in which I have used does create an effect and doesn't look too posed and does look a little more natural, however I still feel like it is not effective enough as the front cover in which I have always been using, this just doesn't match my criteria and the image is too light and does not look appropriate amongst the background image.

Therefore altogther I have experimented with different front cover images using photoshop with different artist positioning and background images to match the consistancy of the magazine poster but in my opinion I just don't think that they work to the best standard that they need.
