Prop Planning...

The prop in which I have planned to use within my music video, is the main feature of a “Red Envelope”

The reason in which I have decided to use this prop for my video, is because my song is centered /related around the idea of love and relationships and how she (singer herself) is wanting to be his, she wants to belong to him.

However, the use of the colour red best suits with the choice in props, this is because red connotes with the idea of love, so this is best fitting the genre of my song and its purpose and that is what my song is all about, the topic of love and relationships. This also, does have an impact on the song lyrics with this choice in prop, this is because the main line in the song is “That I’m Yours” therefore, the prop would reflect this because my main idea of using this prop is to show the idea of her wanting to be his and I thought that showing something that is sealed and the main idea that came into my notes was the idea of a sealed envelope to best suit the purpose of the song and the features within it.

However, yes an envelope can be opened back up again, however I am looking at this prop as it being something that can never be opened it is a sealed memory storage, or in this case a sealed agreement, love a relationship, for as long as she would be his the longer in which this would be sealed and she is his, linking then in with my song and the way it works.

To conclude, this is going to be my only prop to be used this is because, when looking at the official Ella Henderson Music video to yours, she doesn’t really include many props except her piano that she is playing on, meaning that her props are therefore limited, so I want to then keep to this idea of having limited us, don’t reflect too much as mainly this song needs to be based more around the character, the prop would just be something there to support the idea of song and its theme. So therefore meaning that this would be my only main prop to portray my song and its genre.
